So, let's just get this out in the open... I do not care for crowds or managed activities or really anything where I'm told what to do. But, Sweets loves them. So, on a bus and up a tram we went outside of Lucerne!
We'd go back and wander around in a heartbeat! Mt Pilatus was spectacular. He just said, "I thought it was one of my favorite things to do." Just because I asked the name.
We left Lucerne with happy memories and a pull to come back! Seriously. It's SO EASY to catch trains to everywhere while staying in a clean and safe city. The train station was just blocks from our hotel. Now to Zermatt!
We intended to grab as early as train as we could muster to Zermatt, the town at the base of the Matterhorn. But, I am 100% on Canda time all the times, so... we were a wee bit later than intended. It all worked out in the end! The lodge was GLORIOUS! There are no petrol powered vehicles in town, only electric and horses. We ended up getting massages at the lodge and having a chill evening with our balcony view.
The next morning, we took the tram up. The Matterhorn was foggy, so we're glad we captured some amazing pictures when we were walking around.
Back down, lunch, and train to Italy! Up next: Turin.
Beautiful. It looks so peaceful and like somewhere I’d also enjoy wandering around. However, the massage and chill evening sounds perfect!
